Sleepless nights, nappies, crying ....
I could not grasp the bottle concept at all..
No matter how many times my mum tried to explain, demonstrate and tell me my mind would fuzz over. I breasted for only 5 days sadly. H had colic and reflux do we did switch formulas and teats/ bottles too. But the real hurdle for me was making up the bottles. The old school style of my mother in law was to make them all mixed and store in the fridge to heat up later, But you can't do that anymore. Now they have to be made and used within the 2 hours. I found making the day bottles fine as I made them on demand. But night feeds were a pain, as soon as H woke up immediately he'd want his bottle and had no patience and a loud scream (our poor neighbours, this was a 2 hourly occurrence!). Making bottles to take out for the day was a whole another story!
However I finally got to grips with it all. I'm much my organised now. I have a tomee tippee flask which I fill with boiling water and take out with me and also their thermal bags which keep the milk at the right temperature either hot or cold.
It is strange how one thing is hard for some and not for others. A friend has nailed the bottle making but could not grasp the sterilising! Which surprised me as the tomee tippee steriliser is easy to use.
I suppose we all have our flaws in what our brains can cope with?....
